Our county fair takes place in the town I live in, a fair that’s been in existence since 1856.

My son Josh painted an amazing acrylic painting of his great grandpa and after my mom saw it she really encouraged him to enter it in the fair. So I took his painting and one of my small oil paintings to the fair. And to our surprise we both got blue ribbons!

Josh’s painting got a lot of attention; many people at the fair knew my grandpa (he never missed a year of the fair) and recognized him in the painting. That’s a great compliment and I’m really proud of Josh and I am excited that Josh is following his dream!

Last week Josh and I finished a mural at the Care Mission (caremission.net) that is located right behind our church (sievechurch.com).

My good friend, Kathy, recently had an explosion of beautiful, God-given poetry that she graciously shared with me. We were inspired by one of her poems titled Heavenly Comfort, very touching and perfect for this location.

Clovers and God

 

I find four-leaf clovers all the time; I have for as long as I can remember. I found three of them the other day when I was outside with my grand daughter. She asked me how I find them all the time. I told her that I always look for them; they are always there but most people aren’t looking. People say that they want to find one but if they don’t look, they won’t.

 

Then it dawned on me and I told her that a four-leaf clover is kind of like God. He’s always there patiently waiting for us to see and reach out to him but we have to be willing to seek him.  Jeremiah 29:13
